The Bhutan Red Cross Society hosted the first National Sensitisation Workshop on Anticipatory Action in Thimphu with support from International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) and Anticipation Hub.
The event emphasized the importance of Pre-Disaster Agreements and Disaster Law, gathering over 30 participants from key national stakeholders, including His Majestyโs Secretariat (HMS),Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MoFAET)and several other ministries. This workshop marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to implement anticipatory action in Bhutan, focusing on reducing the humanitarian impacts of forecasted hazards through early interventions.
