The Bhutan Red Cross Society, in collaboration with the Royal Society for Senior Citizens, hosted the Intergenerational and Health Activities Program in Thimphu bringing together youth and senior citizens in a shared effort to promote healthy aging and strengthen intergenerational connections.
The program featured youth-led sessions on yoga, gentle aerobics, nutrition, healthy living, and discussions on common age-related eye problems, preventive care, and the importance of regular eye check-ups. A creative highlight of the event was the youth-led artwork exhibition themed โHealthy Aging,โ which beautifully captured the spirit of the initiative.
This unique gathering offered a platform for learning, dialogue, and mutual respect between generations, while also raising awareness on key aging-related challenges such as eye health, sanitation, and overall well-being.
This initiative is part of the Healthy Aging Project funded by the Swiss Red Cross.
