The recent visit of the Hon’ble Secretary-General of BRCS to the ICRC in New Delhi marked a significant step towards enhancing collaboration and cooperation between the organizations. During the visit a Plan of Action 2024 partnership was signed with the Head of the Regional Delegation, Kedir Awol Omar, underscoring a solid commitment to working together.

A key highlight of the visit was the development of a partnership agreement between BRCS and ICRC, in its commitment towards BRCS in emergency procurement and sourcing during disaster as part of the Pre-Disaster Agreement formulation. The first Phase of the strategic move towards disaster preparedness will commence with the development of SOP for emergency procurement as part of the BRCS emergency preparedness specifically earthquake as emphasized by BRCS Incident Commander Hon’ble Dasho Zimpon.

Furthermore, the Hon’ble Secretary-General also met with the Sourcing Analyst and Procurement Engineer from ICRC, laying the groundwork for sharing expertise, and resources, and strengthening the capacities of the National Society for emergency response operations.
