Today at the 5th International Conference on Occupational and Environmental Health (ICOEH) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment, the Bhutan Red Cross Society launched the Occupational First Aid Program along with its three-tiered course structure and the accompanying First Aid Manual.
The Bhutan Red Cross Certified First Aid is accredited to the Singapore Red Cross Academy, Centre for First Aid and Resuscitation.
This milestone marks a significant step in BRCSโs efforts to scale up quality, standardized First Aid training across the country. The Courses & the Manual are designed to strengthen national capacity by equipping individuals, communities, and workplaces with practical, life-saving knowledge and skills aligned with international standards.
The Bhutan Red Cross Certified First Aid Training Program launch comprises of three progressive courses:
* Course 1: First Aid Awareness โ introduces essential knowledge on recognizing emergencies and taking immediate, safe action.
* Course 2: Level 1 Basic First Aid โ equips participants with fundamental practical skills to manage common injuries and medical emergencies.
* Course 3: Level 2 Standard First Aid โ provides comprehensive, hands-on training aligned with workplace needs and higher-risk environments.
Together, these courses establish a structured and standardized pathway for building life-saving competencies, strengthening individual preparedness, and enhancing workplace safety across Bhutan. BRCS is in the progress of adding new First Aid Courses such as the Wielderness First Aid along with the BRCS’s First Aid Courses to be accredited to the Global First Aid Reference Center (GFARC)- IFRC in France.
This official launch reflects BRCSโs continued commitment to building a safer and more resilient society through accessible, high-quality First Aid education.
