As part of our commitment to enhance capacity building, the 5 days intensive training on the Occupational First Aid Course (OFAC) commenced from 08.04.24. A total of 15 selected coordinators from across the branches and five staff are currently undergoing the OFAC training. This comprehensive training program encompasses essential skills like CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

This training for the first time is a pilot for Bhutan Red Cross Society to scope out the level & standards of training for the Bhutan Red Cross Center in preparation of emergencies and disasters besides of the plan to develop a high-tech Emergency Operating Center in the Bhutan Red Cross Center that could benefit the country at large in times of emergencies.

BRCS is part of the National Disaster Management Authority through the National Disaster Mgt Mechanism under the guidance of His Majestyโ€™s Secretariat.

The instructors from Singapore Red Cross Academy are leading the training sessions. Their knowledge and experience will enable us to develop a diverse skill pool of trainers within our branches. This, in turn, will enhance our ability to serve and train our volunteers in the communities.

We extend a warm welcome to the trainers and express our gratitude to Singapore Red Cross for their support in facilitating this essential training program.
