-Every second counts in an Emergency!

A day long basic Non-Medical First Aid training was conducted to the volunteers within Thimphu by The Bhutan Red Cross Society (BRCS), yesterday. This training was designed to equip the volunteers with hands-on experience and impart lifesaving skills during emergency situations, helping to prevent further harm and even save lives.

From controlling bleeding to performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the training covered most significant first aid techniques that can provide vital support until the professional medical help arrives.

By equipping individuals with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in emergencies, the training acknowledges in creating a safer and more compassionate world. The program featured a vibrant mix of participants, ranging from Taxi drivers to housewives to private employees to passionate young volunteers. In total, there were 43 trainees gathered.

By celebrating World First Aid Day, it highlights the importance of first aid skills, encourages individuals to learn and practise it. and emphasises the need for communities to be prepared for emergencies and to deploy necessary resources in place in terms of unforeseen emergencies.
