The hon’ble Secretary-General of Bhutan Red Cross Society (BRCS) met with the New Director of the Multilateral Department, MoFAET. During the meeting, the Secretary-General thanked the continued cooperation and supports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & the Embassies in delivering Bhutan Red Cross’s mandates in humanitarian sector and humanitarian diplomacy.

The Secretary-General updated on the core mandates Bhutan Red Cross is taking up in terms of community resilience and disaster prepardness along side of organizations such as Dessung together under His Majesty’s Secretariat. He updated that upon a meeting with the hon’ble Foreign Secretary that Bhutan Red Cross is developing a Contingency Plan to outline the international Red Cross supports if an emergency or disaster strikes.

Meanwhile, the Director commended BRCS’s humanitarian efforts and reaffirmed MoFAET’s support for its partnerships and disaster preparedness initiatives. And thanked the Secretary-General for the timely communication with the Ministry to ensure the join efforts in humanitarian services under the blessings from His Majesty.
