Bhutan Red Cross Society

In celebration of the auspicious 35th Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, the Bhutan Red Cross Society launched the interim Emergency Operation Center (EOC), a significant step towards enhancing national disaster preparedness and emergency response.
The EOC, equipped with satellite phones and a radio base station, serves as an alternative to the National EOC. These critical tools ensure uninterrupted communication during large-scale disasters, especially in Bhutanโ€™s vulnerable terrain, where earthquakes, floods, and landslides can disrupt regular communication networks. With satellite connectivity, responders can coordinate life-saving operations, deploy relief services, and maintain essential links with international movement partners.
This initiative reaffirms Bhutan Red Cross’s commitment to building a more resilient Bhutan through innovation, international cooperation, and community-centered solutions.
Additionally, as a tribute to Her Majestyโ€™s selfless service and dedication to the nation, Bhutan Red Cross also unveiled a special Photo Album, “The Frames of Humanity Vol-001,” capturing powerful moments of compassion and resilience. It is a humble offering to Her Majesty, our President, whose leadership continues to inspire humanitarian action across the country.
