The BRCS Pemagatshel Branch Coordinator paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Dasho Dzongdag of Pemagatshel to formally welcome him and offer Tashi Khadhar.

During the meeting, the Coordinators updated on the BRCS mandate, ongoing programmes, and humanitarian services of the Bhutan Red Cross in Pemagatshel Branch. Discussions also focused on strengthening coordination with the Dzongkhag Administration, including support for the BRCS office and store to enhance emergency preparedness, as well as plans to conduct Community Response Team (CRT) training, building on the Coordinators’ National Disaster Response Team (NDRT) training.

Dasho Dzongdag expressed appreciation for the dedicated services of BRCS in supporting communities and reaffirmed his commitment to continued support. He further shared that the Dzongkhag Administration will 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗴- 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 set up. This is an effort under the Development Plan 2 (2026-2030) of the BRCS to enhance the community resilience and emergency and disaster preparedness and coordination of the Dzongkhag under the guidance of His Majesty’s Secretariat (HMS) – National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
